Huge weekend in Cheshire County Premier League; and re-arranged Cheshire Cup Final...

Dear Members,

The 2024 Cricket season draws to a close with Hyde CC top of the Cheshire County Premier League.
In basic terms, win our last two League matches and we will be crowned Champions on Sunday afternoon, at Grappenhall CC.

First, on Saturday, there's the small matter of beating Chester BH, one of our keenest rivals and themselves a team in pursuit of the title.
Then on Sunday we go to Grappenhall, who also have much to play for, with their Premier League status still not mathematically assured.
Both fixtures promise to be extremely competitive, with some great cricket in prospect.

Returning to the title fight, this season must surely be one of the most competitive in the history of Cheshire County Cricket League, with four teams still in contention.
Nantwich trail us by 10 points, with Didsbury and Chester in third and fourth place respectively.

Remember, we are playing win / lose format, so it's most likely that nothing short of two wins and 20 points from each game, will be enough to secure ultimate victory.

I'm sure you'll agree, things could not be more excitingly poised as we head up the M56 on Saturday morning.

Following on, we then have the prospect of meeting another team with a chance of League glory, Didsbury, in the re-arranged Cheshire Cup Final, the following Saturday 21 September.

As always your continued support of the team is crucial. If you can, please come to watch the boys as they endeavour to bring the CCCL Premiership back to Hyde for the first time in 9 years.
