We are delighted to welcome Ryan O’Brien to the club joining Hyde from Urmston.
Ryan enjoyed a brilliant season last year in Division 1 of the Cheshire County league. Opening the batting he scored 725 runs in all competitions with an impressive average of 45, his most noticeable innings was a destructive 101 not out vs Stockport Georgians in crucial league win at that stage of the season. Ryan also took 26 wickets in 2024 with his best figures 5/36 coming against Davenham. The impressive all-rounder was also captain at Urmston where he successfully guided the team to safety in a difficult season for the team.
Ryan is currently out playing in Melbourne continuing to develop and improve his game. He is playing for Parkdale CC and has knocked up 500 runs and 13 wickets so far in his time for the club.
Upon joining Ryan said “I’m absolutely delighted to start my new cricketing journey at Hyde, it’s a club I’ve grown up looking at as a club that the best players play for, so it’s very exciting for me to be joining. I’m looking forward to the new challenge ahead, hopefully performing at the level I want to and showing everyone what I can do with both bat and ball”.
Captain Tom Partridge said “I’m happy Ryan has decided to join Hyde, a great move for both him and us, he is the perfect profile of player we were looking to bring in to continue to compete at the top of the premier league. He will bolster the already strong squad massively with both bat and ball. His experience and age are a perfect fit for Hyde and I’m sure he will fit in perfectly. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do for us this year”
Welcome to the club Ryan from everyone at Hyde CC!
