Hyde CC are pleased to finally announce that Cheshire Youth star Elliot Young will be joining the club for the new 2016 season.

Elliot, who is a top order batsman and a slow left arm bowler cant wait to get down to business with his new club. Speaking to club website this morning Young said "I'm delighted to be joining a club like Hyde, I'm really looking forward to working with the best players and coaches in the county. I want to help Hyde to a hat-trick of titles and more in the future. Building a young team is a big thing for me and I love the fact Hyde are moving that way. I'm not going in half hearted I'm here to win and win at all cost. I just hope I can perform to my best and give my all for the team."

Even though Elliot is only 17years old he has two years experience at 1stXI premier league cricket having played for Marple CC where last season he recorded his best 1stXI bowling figures of 6-70 against Chester Boughton Hall.
Young, originally of Hawk Green is still the youngest player to score a senior ton in the Derbyshire & Cheshire League where he also finished 3rd in the bowling averages at just 13 years old.

Hyde vice captain Rob Brierley said "This is a statement of intent from the club, Elliot is without doubt one of most talented young cricketers in the county and we believe he can fulfil his potential here at Hyde. We've seen what Harry Dearden did last season and there is no reason why the likes of Elliot and Ryan Waterhouse cant have a similar impact. We are a club that have challenged for titles and trophies for the past fourty years and we intend to continue this."
